OK, so here is what else I have been advised by CMC... looks like I jumped the gun and still not as simple as I thought, sorry!
If the share registry of NewCo is in the USA, then the Newco shares have to be held with a US broker, and CMC would need to do an International broker to broker transfer so that they can then be held in the CMC account, even if it is converting from CDI.
