With a back-drop of heavy books, polished wood furnishings and trying hard to appear statesmanlike, Craig Emerson replete with runny nose, attempted it seemed, to portray the Slipper affair as another Godwin Gretsch conspiracy with Christopher Pyne and Tony Abbott the principal bad guys.
Apart from sounding like a broken record, very little would have been gained from this muck raking exercise.
The matter is now in the hands of the Law Enforcement agencies. Let's allow them to get on with the job of resolving this issue promptly.
