I would have said profit taking because the US $ showed some volatility as well + George Bush state of the union address and gold money flowing into the rising oil price ?
China might have sold gold instead of buying it up - it was a technical correction that was due looking at stockos charts as he ramps up KCG (he shows gold charts) showed it had pulled ahead to fast and was due to come back
