The Australian Government put a bet against Musk/Tesla regarding the South Australian battery storage with a time frame. Musk achieved what they said he could not and was paid in full for doing so. They called Tesla out and failed in the bet they made with Musk/Tesla having the battery up and running before the date they bet on. Hardly calling out Tesla, they actually look stupid IMO.

The Chinese government subsidized EV manufacturing and this has since slowed down with the subsidies decreasing. Don't you think if billion dollar oil/fuel companies were involved they would have given under the table payments to ensure policies like this wouldnt have gone ahead....

The spodumene market was in oversupply, you cant hide this when you have buyers with stock still on their books and with spodumene suppliers struggling to get the price they want because buyers already have some. This isnt hidden this is all visible and discussed with said companies BoD who openly admit this eg. ASX: PLS.

The issue we will face is the following: Less than 1% of vehicles on the road are electric, as the spodumene price continues to drop this will lead to lower overall battery costs, this leads to flow through lower cost EVs. People will buy these cars when they are lower price/competitve to CO2 vehicles because they are cheaper to run and will save them $.

As demand increases for these cheaper EVs there will be a supply shortage. Because lithium conversion from Spodumene isnt getting funded in the current market and conversion from spodumene to battery production cant ramp up to meet demand. Just watch and see.

There is no argument for CO2 producing vehicles going forward, they are bad for the environment, cost more over the life of ownership to the owner and simply are a dinosaur (exhaustible resources don't last). IMO in Australia I cannot wait to see no more Patrols/Navaras dumping fuel in front of me on the roads, nothing but clean fresh air and silence while driving (unless of course you pick up a sound add on for your EV).

This is a matter of when not if. Give it 5 years, watch and wait...
