Shareholders of ASX-listed companies have the right to physically attend shareholder meetings. This right is enshrined in the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth).Section 249L of the Corporations Act states that: A shareholder of a company is entitled to attend and vote at every meeting of the company. This right is subject to a few exceptions, such as if the shareholder is disqualified from attending meetings by the court or if the meeting is being held virtually. However, even if a meeting is being held virtually, shareholders must still be given the opportunity to participate in the meeting and to vote on any resolutions. Shareholders who wish to physically attend a shareholder meeting should check the company's notice of meeting for details about the date, time, and location of the meeting. Shareholders may also need to register their attendance with the company in advance.
