Unfortunately, offerings to intelligent and sophisticated investors is quite the norm at the moment. In a number of companies in which I invest, behind closed doors offerings occur. Sometimes they are interested parties such as 'Wacker', sometimes they are financial houses looking for some easy money (below SP rights issue). Hopefully both ways will be good for the company and your investment. Money invested in the company is not a bad thing.
The thing to watch for is, director options and share issuance, they are the dilution worries.
