Suppose I am much more prudent now before committing my hard earned to a stock.
Have fallen for the rampers a few times and at the same time I have exited stocks just in the nick of time.
I have some of the down-rampers to thank for that. In those euphoric times when you are sitting on a multi-bagger paper profit, it's important to have a reality check and question the meteoric rise. This is where it's important to allow both sides of the story to run it's course rather than intervening just because some on the forum are fearful of having any negativity posted. It's also a good learning curve for newbies to understand the culture that everything is not what it always appears to be. It takes of the rose coloured glasses to a certain point. A prime example for me was LYC when it went to dizzy heights. Thankfully I exited when I did. At the time there were a lot of posters that just did not want to hear anything that could possibly be negative on the forum.
Yet, there was extreme conflicting views. Most of it was opinionated and not facts. I want to see both styles remain on the forums as it is, without any tampering. It's a different matter if the poster's style has shown time and time again they are a nuisance troll.
They should be banned permanently. As for not being allowed to post because you don't hold the stock. That is ridiculous.
If I go into a shop or browsing, I want to be reassured that the product lives up to it's name if I am going to purchase it. Therefore, I will ask questions and challenge any discrepancies. That should be exactly the same on HC. Plenty of spruikers on threads. Therefore, rather than showing abuse or aggression, they should answer the questions if they are so sure of themselves.

Thank you Markco2 and my sentiments exactly....and I am glad you brought LYC up as it is a text book example. If my memory serves me LYC was the first time ever that we had a group of posters take their bat and ball and head off to a private chat group. They were quite put out that we were allowing the other side of the debate to have a say. That was when LYC was over $2 a share reaching a peak of $2.70. I appreciate the fact that the negative posters may have ruined their warm fuzzy feeling but....LYC is 6.7c today!!!!!......How's that warm and fuzzy feeling working for them now??

Let that be a lesson to newbies. The problem is not the negative posters....it is the market. She takes no prisoners.
