If one is self sufficient there is no need for a caravan park. I can fully understand people of the community being a little pissed off a motorhome parking in the prime real estate of the foreshore getting out their 5KVA gennie and firing it up for the night and still going a couple of hours after the sun went down. I'm guessing this would of been the a contributing factor into the erections of no camping signs around the towns.

Our motorhome was self sufficient to the point where we needed to plug into power once in the 5 yrs. Having 8 solar panels, 740 amp hours of battery storage, large 12v fridge, lights, tv, gas stove, bbq, shower, toilet and a 1,100lt water tank the caravan parks were not needed.

Small towns need tourists and when a town decided that grey traveling nomads can not free camp around the town they are more likely to keep on driving. When a town welcomes you, you spend money in the community.
