It's all been done before Graham, and inevitably, when the bottom falls out of whichever stock has gathered its group of faithful followers, they all want to come back to HotCopper, and most learn with time that it's a shocking thing to ignore listening to both sides of the ledger on whatever stock you're holding.

HotCopper isn't here to simply support boiler room fuzzy feel good groups.
It's here to discuss and debate the merits or otherwise of the stock. As 'otherwise' is by far the most prevalent long term result in the market, it pays to keep an open mind, something which we've learned from experience is less likely to happen when 'group think' begins, along with the back slapping, and forward dreaming of ordering new cars.

Not for one moment saying this may be the case with this stock, as mostly to us, a stock is simply a 3 letter code.

The paragraph of most importance in mod Tweets posts , that you and others may have chosen to ignore, is :

"So can XPE posters PLEASE try to understand (& accept) that no matter what another member's point of view is with regard to F/A or T/A on this forum, we welcome ALL viewpoints on this website (whether they be positive or negative). We also encourage robust debate on the forums as we consider this fundamental to trading/investing."

Note that we won't tolerate a member trying to take others away from HotCopper, so though we welcome you having groups for private chat, note that you cannot post to take people away if you want to remain a member here yourself. It's 'just not cricket'

We also encourage members to start threads simply for 'off topic chat' so it doesn't alienate members wanting to only read serious stock chat. That's obviously a thought here, as we understand the camaraderie of holders chatting together over a long period of time and starting to 'know' each other.
Feel free to use that thread idea so you can have your chat and others will know it's not the thread for them if it's clearly marked off topic.

It's obvious many of you are unaware of the posting guidelines, and some rules.
We do not allow discussion of moderation on HotCopper. That has to be done by contacting me via Support, and never on the forum.

Members since time immemorial have failed to grasp that in the long term, moderation helps to keep some order.
You may or may not be aware that cyber bullying is illegal, and one of the biggest reasons we don't allow personal attacks on other posters, and manners must be used in debate, without name calling.

Some of my post may be generic, and irrelevant to what's happening here, but it's a common theme throughout HotCopper.
Admin and mods will work together to keep things above board, and ensure ramp, or boiler room groups aren't left back slapping with no counter arguments.
Our Moderators are not concerned with the stock, or the holders, or non holders. They are concerned with the guidelines of the site, and the fact that you need to communicate politely, and sensibly.
This isn't a site where we will allow a pub room brawl to go unpunished.
Over the long term, this is the healthiest way to allow stock discussion.
