Hello Footsie, you are not alone in losing 90% of your share portfolio. I have done the same; and I am very sympathetic to you as, I am sure, many other HC participants are.

I too am not comfortable with leaving funds in the banks but I don't know of an alternative other than to buy physical gold or get actual share scrip or land. Opes prime scared a lot of us and I wonder who actually owns the shares bought under etrade or comsec.

I think we are in for quite a rough time ahead and I'm not entirely sure cash is king as it is so easily eroded by inflation.

In the meantime, please don't be disheartened. The market will come back and at least you are not living in Zimbabwe where there is no hope.
