re: aud will dive .. arthur Regular readers (lol) might know that I'm very bearish on Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae in the US. As mortgage originators they carry huge leveraged positions that would be vulberable to any sudden change in interest rates. However when they've been challenged about this risk they always declare that they've hedged by selling their risk to financial insto's around the world. That may include some or all of our major banks. In such case a financial crisis in the US mortgage market could immediately impact here.
This is just surmise on my part but reading Cheech's comments on the hidden risks held by oz banks I don't dismiss them as I once may have.
