Your right Auntie the thing is supply and demand and others are right as it's a HUGE turnover on a daily basis ,although i think the figures quoted on all futures markets are false as people generally only play the game using deposits . From memory the SPI which is worth $83,375 per contract can be bought on a $3,000 deposit daily. The figures quoted on value of turnover are based on the contract not the deposit i think.
