Very concerning that this centre operates with a nominated supervisor, a centre manager, an area manager, a regional manager, a state manager and national operation managers and for whatever reason, the department were the ones to act on the concerns. IMO the notification to the department would have been made by either a parent or a member of staff, doubt that it came about from a spot check.

On 18 January this year G8 were successfully prosecuted for failing to comply with the conditions on a service approval, in Liverpool local court and fined $5,000. That was for exceeding licenced numbers on a daily basis between October 2017 and 30 November 2017.

This seems a bit more serious.

"Deakin Early Learning Centre closed Ro undertake some construction work".

"With the impending lease expiry, we made the difficult decision to permanently close the centre. We are and will continue to work directly with families to support them with alternate care arrangements at nearby centre's, with a $50 daily fee discount offered until the end of the year".

" Thursday's email to parents appeared to be sent out by staff from Deakin Early Learning Centre. They apologised for the uncertainty families had been feeling for the last month and said they, too, were working with "limited information ourselves".

The "quoted" reference is towards repair works.
