Seriously,
if Fort Know was empty of gold
if the powers that be had sold it all off or even some of it,
don't you thinks that those in charge could not rig a simple audit. Remember Enron, Global Crossing et al. All audited and signed but totally rotten.
This is such a non story whichever way you look at it. No one in the US can afford to see an empty Fort Knox. Indeed I don't believe it is ever empty. It makes no sense in these days of paper gold and ETFs, why bother to expend the physical stuff.
This is just a beat up by the fringe nutters and now the infotainment-media run with it to create a story where there is none. This may even result in an audit. But what it will never result in is a financial scandal.
