Guy's raising rates isn't going to stop inflation, Oil prices and a lot of stuff is out of the RBA's hand it would
be simplistic to think raising rates will stop inflation. When you look how far retail sales are down and discretionary spending the RBA walks a fine line between stopping inflation with modest growth and causing a full blown reccession. One I am sure they are fully aware of, To call for higher rates and say its in August is sensationalism at its worst often associated with Tabliod Newspapers. I am sure after a very careful consideration the RBA will assess but most likely the banks will pass on a few .1% due to the cost of borrowing money doing the RBA's job for them.
