I agree with you and what was the cost of this farce? $400 billion for 3 subs to be delivered sometime between 2035 and 2045. This has to be the height of stupidity and you can bet there will be a massive blowout of that number. This is just pandering to the US and GB military industrial complex, filling their coffers and will not endear Australia to our neighbors. The Australian government are not acting in the best interest of it's citizens. AUKUS should be shelved and the tax payer funds put towards building good relationships with our Asian neighbors that are fast moving towards a mutually beneficial multipolar world and Australian innovations that will support our kids and future generations.
