I don't think what you're saying is entirely accurate. The quote is 'Aurora Cannabis Inc has informed the Company that it will not participate in any new funding associated with Cann's near-term plans.' This is not the same as saying they will never fund Cann. It makes sense given Aurora's own situation. They have had their own struggles so will not want to open the cheque book for Cann.
So in the near term if Cann needs to get funding through equity it will be without Aurora. That's okay too. They haven't entirely relied on Aurora in the past, and they shouldn't need to. If they can prove they have a clear path to profitability (which they've given some details of in today's announcement) then they can still be an attractive investment - just not the rapid growth some people were expecting.
