What sort of ill-informed rubbish is this? Seriously "Old man shakes fist at clouds!" kinda headlines. The Littoral Defence focus is one we have suggested for years, as the most useful for a DEFENCE Force.
(BTW, buying land in the Darwin area woud be a smart move - kinda gonna be a big focus there soon..)
The overall Australia line is that it has to tread very carefully with China and to a certain extent Indonesia - they are both capable of causing us major headaches.
Australia would do well to avoid banging the drum too loudly, and must develop some stronger ties with our neighbours. Encouraging more people to join our Defence Force first rather than last resort is a good idea. Lord knows the quality of our Officer cohort could do with some improvement!
