Firstly, take a chemistry lesson - hydrochloric acid and sulphuric acid are 2 difference acids. They are used in wineries every day for testing - I hope you avoid wineries.
Solid waste is also an issue in Australia, and we have various of handling it - we don't just dump it in the sea
Radioactive thorium is found all over Australia, the key issue being the concentration. It is used in the treatment of certain cancers.You can get exposed to radiation via xrays - ever had one?
