    If you can afford to be absent from Australia for two years then you really don't need a pension, and by the way at
    $1218.00 a fortnight for a couple I think it's pretty good and that rate does not include the rent subsidy and of course there is a single person supplement. A hell of a lot of young families don't have that sort of money to live on and by the pension age you should be pretty well on your feet. Imagine what it would cost a young family to go to the doctors and then have to buy medicines, an awful lot !.
    Why do so many think it's a right to get a pension ?, the country can't afford to have what Menzies had.
