Misty, on top of the base rate there is the age supplement which is about $50 per f/n each person receiving the full pension and also the governments carbon tax offset. This would explain the difference. I handle the paperwork for aged relatives so I know what goes in each fortnight. They seem to live quite well and save a bit. But run a good home and don't waste (They lived through tough times in the old days so I guess waste is a dirty word for them), they have taught me a thing or two. How is gen Y going to manage ?, they won't know what hit them.
