Sector, not a dump, a three bed semi in Rochdale. Second one was a four bed detached, brand new, in Bristol - hence the price difference; houses in the south of England were much more expensive. Of course, the mortgages weren't that big because you had to have a deposit. That's what I'll be telling the great-great grandkids in 2068 - explaining the concept of "deposit"!!
I know it was England, but property prices have gone the same way there as here.
An identical one to the Bristol house sold for $199,950 this year. I don't think wages have risen by 36 times since 1964.
