    ENGINEERING services provider Ausenco is tipping improving global conditions in 2010 will boost its growth.

    The Brisbane company provides consulting, engineering and project management in the resources and energy industry.

    Ausenco chief executive Zimi Meka said business confidence was improving, commodity demand was strengthening, and signals of economic growth were returning.

    "We expect growth across our group as business and economic conditions continue to improve across the globe during 2010 and into 2011," he said in the company's annual report.

    He said a number of previously deferred project delivery contracts had been revived.

    "Our order book is growing and tender activity remains at historically high levels," Mr Meka said.

    "We are confident we will convert a share of our estimated $US16.6 billion ($18.3bn) pipeline of study and design projects into further work," he said.

    Ausenco chairman and former Queensland premier Wayne Goss said that in the past year the company had taken steps to position itself for future opportunities.

    "The result is a renewed focus on our strategic direction, along with the implementation of a number of initiatives to strengthen and diversify the company," Mr Goss said.
