Pissing money up against a wall never makes a lot of sense. Why were there no major infrastructure projects (future investments) that Rudd could have fast tracked to provide a more permanent stimulus?
'cause Howard wasted about 5 yrs doing nothing, and while Australia persists with a ridiculous 3yr election cycle that's unlikely to change.
About time we identified what we can do well (manufacturing TV's won't be one of them) and put some LT investment in place. Adding value to what we dig out of the ground would seem logical and two emerging opportunities would seem to be RE & graphite, we've got great resources and great research at ANSTO, Monash Uni, etc, why is it so hard to join the dots?
