Natasha was brilliant! Intellectually, she ran rings around everyone in the Senate AND the lower house. She was -still is- one of those poppies who are not only tall, but stunningly beautiful also. Her third problem was that she was young and that's three "no, nos" in one human being. Too much for the common aussie. So, out came the disparagement about she trying to be a "rock star" and garbage like that, from the tabloids.
And we all know that tabloids are for the illiterate and the blind.

Always amazes me how, no matter how much some people are kicked up the bum or slapped in the face by a political party, or their boss, or anyone in some equivocal seat of power, they still prefer to continue the punishment rather than head for someone else. Change frightens them that much that they stick with their tormentor through hell fire! Give him even more power, if they can! Destroy anyone who's showing a different propensity, even if that propensity is benign or even -god forbid!- benevolent!
