dave,i think it is too simplistic to suggest it was because of John Howard.The biggest crime they were accused of was sideing with him over gst.
A crime i dont think was committed,it is the fairest tax ever introduced,bringing us into line with most of the world and one which that old pig farmer and tax dodger himself Keating wanted to introduce way before Howard.
