Like pretty much any mining project in AU, the DFS figures are actually negatively impacted by a strong AUD, since the price of metals is quoted in USD.

Cheaper capital expenditure does not compensate for the reduced AUD translated revenue over the lifetime of the mine.
AUD is now +10% wrt to the DFS rate of $0.70 USD. A 10% increase in AUD/USD exchange yields a >20% reduction in NPV.
The AUD parity with USD you discuss is not even contemplated in the DFS, but a 30% increase in the AUD/USD exchange (to $0.91) would wipe out 60% of NPV.

For an appreciating AUD to be a positive you'd have to have a strong AUD solely during the procurement and construction phases when capital is spent, then a rapidly weakening AUD over the remaining lifetime of the mine.
