You have misunderstood a law of physics there lucky. In theory you don't use any more total power to accelerate slowly or quickly to a set speed. Yes you obviously use it faster if you want a higher rate of acceleration but the end result is the same.
You said "as the battery discharges, the energy consumption increases in relation to the vehicle weight, the fuel density and the distance travelled." perhaps you better re-read that, I suspect you didn't mean to say it because it makes absolutely no sense.
I mostly agree with you on battery sizing and solar panels however not with your last comment. Electric trucks are viable for some situations right now and will be for many more soon.
