"You have misunderstood a law of physics there lucky. In theory you don't use any more total power to accelerate slowly or quickly to a set speed. Yes you obviously use it faster if you want a higher rate of acceleration but the end result is the same." This may be the theory but..... With respect, I am going to give you some real life figures.
My racebike 0-210kph, not in a hurry, ie approx1.5 miles..... well under 1litre of fuel. My racebike 0-200 kph in 1/4 mile..... 11.2 seconds, ..... (60ft @100kph less than 2 seconds) .....3.3 litres of fuel.
