Africa is not different to us. China and Japan are saying: "either you play by our rules or we wont invest in you or buy anything from you anymore."
A glut of exploration leases, projects and supply now means they have choices. Since they are both the investor and the consumer: "either you do what we want or we shop elsewhere."
As for shipping, there's a glut of that too! Oil? <- Iran.
Lets face it - its a competitive world out there and if you don't look after the customer you go broke! Even BHP has to shape up or miss out!
China and India have caused an explosion of trade and investment in Africa in the past decade.
