As we get closer to Aust Day, I thought I'd make another comment on this thread, whilst wearing my uggies (Australian made of course).
Many people, in this beautiful country of ours, take Australia for granted.
I would not want to live anywhere else. I have travelled the world and after a while get homesick.
Australia is still one of the safest places in the world. Besides its natural beauty, its the people that make it what it is. Many people here still believe in the value of mateship. As we have seen in numerous bushfire tragedies (being a Victorian I've seen many), Australians care for each other.
