Yup, had my pints of Kilkenny every eve, AKKI. There is no probs about Westeners drinking in designated hotels, and apparently none for locals who wish to do so either, but consume alcohol out in the street & you're in trouble.And just maybe those Oxford-accented dudes in the white robes at the Irish Bar may not have been Muslims???
A German lady acting as our tour guide pointed out a western male tourist who had taken his shirt off (hot day) as being imminently "in very big trouble"......
