Aussie Rules vs Soccer, page-23

Aussie Rules is the blue chip, soccer the growth stock. I like both, but can see how both would have their critics (the play acting in soccer is ridiculous for example).

Soccer, and the A League in particular, does pretty well for itself considering there are just countless many better leagues in the World. Buy a ticket to an NRL/AFL game you are seeing the best players in the World any weekend. Just aint the same with the round ball game in Oz. Can't deny the commitment of those that do show up, because the quality at times is rubbish.

League is the one I feel is in troubled ground. A mix of stupid rule changes, physicality taking over, lack of viable expansion options, the game being more of a tv sport and spitting in the face of true club fans by having three glorified all star games taking players out of a huge chunk of the season. All need sorting.
