I come to realise that the Australian Equity Markets are an absolute waste of time no real interest from international investors and fundamentally our local fund managers tend to focus on one or two sectors.

If we see what has happened since the GFC- US markets have risen almost 3 fold where our markets have been virtually flat maybe still under from 2008.

I gather the appetite in Australia is less risk averse and despite all articles, forums and write ups and experts is just a waste of time.

I don't hear anymore fund managers saying hold for the long term - they know it does not work - the last 10 years exemplifies all of this and is best to hold in TD despite a 2.5% return maybe worth it.!
