"Mad Dog Cox" was born Melville Peter Schnitzerling, it was a pretty good show on him, a bit unknown how he acually got the name "Mad Dog" - some say it came via a journo . . the "Tough Nut" series is an amazing look at some of our hardest criminals, if you like that sort of thing;) I do!
