Interested to hear your thoughts on best value grain land given it must have a reliable rainfall. Recently visited Maitland on York Peninsula in SA which is claimed to be the barley capital of Australia. Crops there were far superior to crops growing through NW Victoria but I guess rainfall also greater around Maitland. Land prices I felt were deal for grain country but was told by local "they have a bad year about every fifth year & even that is not bad by other areas standards". Got the impression there were plenty of successful farmers in the region but still couldn't see the value in the land around $2,000 per acre. Your thoughts on undervalued grain land in Australia? Doubt Victoria rates given last few years. Regards Buffett
