So we dropped 4 places in two years under Labor. The Coalition didn't form govt till late 2013, so there would have been another 2 places attributable to Labor before Abbott won the election leaving Australia at 44th. So the Coalition have slowed the slide considerably, dropping at less than 1 place per year since taking power. It's hard for them to undo the mess of your type lappy, give them a chance.
