War would be disaster as some poster have said - the threat of war is a different matter. What we need is time for the "west" to build up its deterrence then we do not have a war but do have a prosperous and free society - backing off is not an option - dictators are NOT irrational. China is doing well and will remain so if we are all pragmatic. Just look at the statistics for the losses due to conflict from 1945 to now verses prior to that date - what's the difference - it's nuclear weapons.
