The latest ones coming out of Telegraph, from what I have seen so far - haven't actually succeeded in pumping anything (they claim they do, but they're liars). The individuals that have been caught are members of the 'pumping group' that have barreled in to those groups to make a quick buck. Hopefully they all learn something and leave them - it's kind of a good lesson for them. They all need a lesson in morals - not just the organisers, but those trying to jump on.
I guess the thing is that pump and dump groups have always been around - money always brings the rats and snakes.
Still comes down to your own research and sanity checking what you are doing. For A8G - I discovered this the other day before I saw the PnD mention. I'm still watching out of curiosity for the right time to jump in. Its just got a little more interesting with people panicking about Evergrande, which might also flush out these parasites !
