I don't agree, I do not believe that we need baseload generation, or nuclear is inevitable.
We only needed baseload because with coal you just cannot turn it on immediately on requirement.
We are just around the corner with new technologies that are emerging.
Hydrogen utilizing Electrolysers (energy guzzlers) is also too expensive,and will have to be heavily subsidised by the Government.

The Government has been sold a pup with Electrolyser Technology (they have gone up 50% in the last 12 months the big companies are lining up for monster grants to support their Electrolyser factory startups), for a start, they have to use drinking water which is scarce, or they can use seawater which needs a Desal Plant which leaves behind Brine and everywhere this has been done around the world they have dumped the Brine back into the sea and fish other creatures cannot live in the area.
