    I think that’s always been the case. Turning up to beheadings and hangings. Stoning people. Cheering the king or emperor. Most popular rebellions and up badly (and while the French Revolution change France forever it suffered terribly under Robespierre ).

    power is usually only yielded with violence and most people don’t willingly take that on. Even less likely I think when operating under the guise of democracy and the hope that another leader, another party, another government will improve things.

    a folorn hope it seems

    it seems that most people look to someone to tell them what to do. Power based connections to be a fundamental part of the human condition despite a longing for it to be otherwise.
