With Labor's unaffordable 50% increase Australia now takes 20,000 refugees per year.
America has a population 15 times that of Australia, and took 76,000 refugees in 2012.
If Australia took the same amount of refugees as America, on a per capita basis, it would amount to around 5,000 refugees per year.

NZ has 1/5 the population of Australia and takes 750 refugees per year.
If Australia took the same amount of refugees as NZ, on a per capita basis, it would amount to around 3,750 refugees per year.
