Renewable as in, the carbon dioxide is collected by the leaves, together with sunlight photosynthesis creates o2 and sugars. Plant grows, dies and is compressed over a very short 100m years to bituminous and finally anthracitic coal. Coal is burnt, co2 is released, cycle renews.
