Australia considering to spend $30 billion on US bombers that can reach mainland China

The Australian government is being urged acquire B-21 stealth bombers from the US at a price tag of $30 billion.

Defence analysts Marcus Hellyer and Andrew Nicholls say the massive costs should be weighed with the long-range warplane's ability to reach mainland China.

This can plug the anticipated capability gap before the $170 billion US nuclear submarines will be delivered in the early 2040s.
