As bad as 26th is as it only represents the colony of NSW and not of Australia, my thoughts are that it will remain 26th January until we finally cut the strings with England, remove the GG as they are not required and have our own flag. That day will come...........maybe not in the next 10 years but it will certainly happen at some point when the boomers have passed. We don't need a president, we can retain our westminster system of 2 houses and no need for GG approval as the legislation has been passed by those members we voted in as the government.
