    Dan1 imo, if the history of Jan26 was taught more the net result might be that even more people would want
    an Australia Day to be celebrated on a more relevant acceptable date. History is not on the side of Jan 26 as Australia did not even exist as a whole official country then. It did not become the Federation that is officially Australia until 1January 1901 following which a decision was made to build Canberra to be the Capital City of Australia. That also became official on 1January 1911 with the federal parliament based in Canberra.

    You need to brush up on your history it seems.
