From too many years of experience,
People who keep looking back, will never get ahead.
Change a day, give more funding, apoligising, it just gives justifiaction to the "victim" mentality.

History,
I know a man, who when young, he and his family were taken from their homes along with many others, transported to another country, made to exist in woeful conditions to work for no money while people around him die daily while trying to survive.
Some say it is a form of slavery (going by the US standard)
The man never returned to his place of birth, his parents both died during this ordeal

He never really looked back and blamed "his lot in life" on what happened, he looked ahead and made the best life he could for his family
