And why shouldn't high income earners get access to the paid maternity leave? Or plasma-cash one? Or pokie-credits two? Or baby bonus? Or any of the other bazillion handouts and discounts?
I just can't get past the bit about discriminating against the very people who fund so much of these initiatives and equally, the very people who are the absolute least drain on anyone else [read: self-sufficient].
As much as some people need a hand-up, we should recognise the great achievement of people who have been smart, lucky or dilligent enough to stand on their own two feet.
I'm all for a dash of socialism in providing health and good living to our Australian brothers and sisters - but fairs fair enough isn't it??
