My experience of Sri Lankan people is the same as you Furpo2.
My best apprentice ever was a Tamil refugee who escaped the civil war with his mother and brother. In fact their escape was a torrid time being shot at as they escaped over farm land. This young chap is highly educated and now holds a CFO role. He married another Sri Lankan refugee and both work professionally and raising two young boys to boot. They are generous to their community and help young immigrants get into meaningful employment.

One unusual feature of the marriage is that one half is a Tamil Catholic and the other half is a Buddhist. A strange combo that works delightfully. Must be something in the Sri Lankan soul. It is great to see people welcomed into Australia and then see them contribute more than they receive.

Their is hope in the world, just need good people in charge.
