I think the SLOMO govt failed again at the negotiation table. The deal with the French could have been renegotiated and maintained, maybe reducing the quantity to split it half and half whereby we can both conventional and nuclear. Maybe half based in WA and the other half in SA, benefiting both countries and both states. It is poor form to not notify the French directly, instead of springing it on them via a press conference. It is not how allies behave.

At the end of the day the French are probably pissed they weren’t asked to be part of the ‘AUSFUK’
